This was an opportunity for a select group to meet three of the artists who exhibited at ARTfutures 2007. Blood visited Caroline McCarthy and Marion Coutts's studios in E2. We were then invited to the private view of Doubleuse, a group show in which ARTfutures artist John Wilkins was participating at The Nunnery Gallery.
The ARTfutures team accompanied us on this event, offering a unique insight into the selection process for ARTfutures, since each piece of art in ARTfutures is chosen by a curator during a studio visit. The evening also provided guests with a preview of the artists' work and further understanding of their practice.

Marion Coutts works in film and sculpture, making particular reference to social rituals, games and popular entertainment. Caroline McCarthy is known for her innovative exploration of situations and things, often making reference to historical art imagery and recreating them using intricate processes. Painter John Wilkins, a senior artist represented by Anthony Reynolds Gallery, is currently featuring in several group art shows. His work explores stencilled motifs set against gradations of colour and ground. To find out more and view other artists who will be participating in ARTfutures 2007 visit www.artfutures.org.uk
The cost for attending this event was £10 including transportation between the studios and The Nunnery Gallery.
